This temple holds much mythological relevance and the popular belief is that a darshan here would absolve one from all the boons. The Shivalinga in the temple houses 1000 other lingas on it and it is joyful sight to have glimpse of this on a single shrine. All the lingas are carved out of the same idol. Sahasra linga temple is located in the midst of a forest and its pretty position on the backdrop of a hill makes more serene. A visit to this shrine would be a worthy affair. Sri Varaha Lakshminarasimha Temple, located aesthetically atop a hill at Simhachalam, is an ancient shrine renovated by the Chalukya kings. It is acclaimed as the second richest temple after Tirupati in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The prime deity in this temple has the features of Varaha and Narasimha, two incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The idol is kept wrapped in Sandal Paste all through the year except for the festival day known as ‘Chandana Visarjana’. Thousands of devotees flock to this temple all through the year. The temple architecture is adorable, a mix of the Orissan and Chalukyan architectural styles. A Kalyana Mandapam with 16 pillars, a stunning stone chariot driven by horses and the intricate carvings are all very attractive.

The Hathakesvara Temple (or the Hatkesvaram Temple) is a structurally beautiful but small temple situated on the downhill of Srisailam in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. This temple enshrines a beautiful Shiva Linga. This is a highly revered temple by the local populace. The temple idol is believed to have many powers including the curing of diseases. It is believed that this temple is placed at a spot where the renowned and most revered saint Sri Sankaracharya wrote one of his philosophical treaties. The temple is located at a picturesque spot surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The temple is open on all days. Timings: 6pm to 9pm.
